Another good tip I found: I have two hard drives totalling 100Gb. One is empty, and so I put my windows swap file on there, and my Temporary Internet Files, apparently this can have quite an effect on speed.
It made quite a difference to my system.

Yes Boxxi, that is an excellent tip... If you only have one hard drive you can create a separate partition to use for the same purpose.

I use two 60GB's, but I keep Temp Int File set for one day. I run 649 Mb ram with an optimizer and that helps a lot.

640MB.

my new systems got 1gb ram amd 1700 soyo motherboard, aiw radeon coming, and other things but im still waiting on my motherboar and second ram chip.

My current running system is a laptop 700 mhz 256 ram 8mb video card. Im just trying to tweak some performance outta it

A good graphics card will also help take the load off your processor too, more ram the better.

Oh, see we have covered that already.

Well, good night all, big day tomorrow fighting with the credit card company and why they won't pay my ISP bill. >

I wouldn't worry about it much until you get your Real system up and running.....

JM: "If you have a lot of RAM aleady you don't need any Ram optimizing software...... "

Except that I already got twice the RAM my motherboard seem to max out at. I got 256 in there, but I can only see 128. So, 128 is what I'm stuck with till I get a new machine at home.

Patric: Is that an old system? it's unusual to max out at 128Mb. Even my old system could handle 320Mb of Ram. Is their a setting in the bios that needs changing or something? I know that you are experienced with computers, but that sounds a little odd.
